The Right Neighbourly Walking Program is a program designed to help reduce seniors’ social isolation and to support healthy active aging. The goal is to create walking programs in communities with large populations of older adults, who may not have access to transportation. Volunteers will be trained to use walking poles by an exercise professional. Volunteers 55+ are preferred. This program begins the end of July and will run for 8 consecutive weeks. Volunteers for this position must be able to walk for at least 30 minutes and enjoy talking to older adults. A valid driver’s license and a current RCMP Criminal Record Check is required, paid for by the agency. For more information, call Jane at 250-754-3331 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
