ST JOHN AMBULANCE – Therapy Dog Program

St. John Ambulance is looking for volunteers with dogs who are keen to visit seniors’ care homes and schools and to attend special events.  Dogs must be over 2 years of age, well socialized and comfortable around different types of people and situations.  Volunteers visit with their dogs and must commit to a minimum one hour per week at one facility.  A Criminal Record Check is required and is paid for by the agency.  Volunteers and their dogs must be pass an evaluation; there is a one-time fee of $25 for this evaluation.   There will be an information meeting October 17 at 7PM at the St John Ambulance office 2250 Labieux Road, Nanaimo.
