CANADIAN RED CROSS (two positions)

1.         Disaster Management Community Volunteer (BC Coastal)

Volunteer needed to work in communities to link Canadian Red Cross resources to people before, during and after a disaster.   A commitment of 2 – 4 hours per week is required, and Disaster Management Training is provided.  A criminal record cheque is required, paid for by the Canadian Red Cross.  For full details, and/or apply, please contact Alixandria Stupich, at 250.756.9363, email at alixandria.stupich#redcross.ca, or drop into the office at #3 – 2525 McCullough Road, Nanaimo.

2.         Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) Service Volunteer

Volunteers needed for a 4-hour shift per week 9.30am to 2pm or 1 – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, to provide front line assistance to clients requiring to rent wheelchairs, walkers, etc. while maintaining the Red Cross quality assurance policies, and maintain accurate records.  Please apply to Diane Marwick, HELP Coordinator, at 250.756.9363 ext. 222 or email diane.marwick@redcross.ca

Visitor services

Landscaper

Kitchen Server and Board Members

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY, NANAIMO UNIT

Campaign Mapper

Volunteers needed to prepare campaign maps for the Unit, update area and zone maps, prepare and identify walk maps, prepare a master file, update Campaign Chair, attend relevant workshops, become familiar with “where the money goes”, etc.  Ability to read maps, and good knowledge of community, and Canvasser experience preferred.  Training provided.   Drop your application to Sheila Redel at the Unit office, 777E Poplar Street, Nanaimo.  Telephone 250.741.8180 to confirm office hours.

 

SPECIAL OLYMPICS – NANAIMO (two positions)

1. Swim Coach

2. Figure Skating Coach
