About us
The Nanaimo Volunteer and Information Centre Society (NVICS),
also known as Volunteer Nanaimo, has been acting as the central hub of
the Non Profit and Volunteering Community here in Nanaimo since 1979.
Our business statement is:
"To partner in building the community’s quality of life
through volunteer development; to provide leadership in voluntary action
for all ages while sustaining the integrity of work."
We
accomplish this by:

Promoting Volunteerism and raising
awareness of the power of service.

Building capacity for effective
local volunteering through management consulting on volunteer
programs and the training of volunteers and the management of
volunteer resources.

To provide leadership and support
on issues related to volunteerism and volunteer programs.

To connect people with
opportunities to serve through recruitment and referrals of
prospective volunteers to community agencies.
