The volunteer will lead and actively participate in weekly program sessions for stroke survivors in the Nanaimo area. You will prepare, plan and execute fun and engaging activities and provide community resources to enhance the participants. You will also be responsible for set up and clean up before and after session and provide ongoing communication with participants via telephone or email.
You must be 19 years or older and have lived experience as a stroke survivor, caregiver, or someone with knowledge of individuals affected by stroke and communication disabilities. You need the ability to take or give verbal and/or written direction and follow through to complete assigned tasks. Experience with speech-language pathology preferred. An RCMP check is required and will be paid by the agency.
