Eden Gardens is seeking a gift shop attendant. This volunteer would be responsible for assisting the gift shop coordinator in all retail activities related to the gift shop, including customer service, sales, volunteer training, inventory, ordering and stocking, sales/cash reconciliation and deposits. This position requires a minimum commitment of 3 to 6 hours per week.
Requirements include the following: experience in a paid or volunteer position involving contact with the public, experience in retail sales, sensitivity to the elderly, good understanding of dementia, excellent communication and conversational English skills. The ability to observe the confidentiality of residents is also required. An RCMP Criminal Record Check is required and is paid for by the agency.
