LITERACY CENTRAL VANCOUVER ISLAND – Fostering Literacy

Fostering Literacy is a program dedicated to Elementary School students who are having difficulty reading at grade level.  Students practice and grow their reading skills with a trained tutor in a one-on-one setting, with the emphasis on making reading fun.  The program will take place at Fairview School, 205 Howard Avenue twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00PM from January to June.  A volunteer for this program must be enthusiastic about reading and supporting reading, have a passion to work with Grade 3 to 7 students and have the ability to communicate effectively with the Family Literacy Coordinator. An RCMP Criminal Record Check is required and is paid for by the agency. For more information, please email Azza: family@lcvi.ca.
