ELDERDOG NANAIMO-OCEANSIDE – Assistant Foster/Rehoming Coordinator

ElderDog provides free services to seniors who need help looking after their dogs so they can remain in a family.  ElderDog periodically need a foster home for a dog while its senior owner is in hospital or recuperating from and injury or illness or need to find a permanent home for a senior’s dog.  They are looking for a volunteer to help find foster and permanent placements.  A volunteer for this position would be interviewing adoption and foster parent applicants to determine suitability, arrange foster home placements and liaise with the senior owners.  Experience with dogs, patience and understanding are required. Time commitment varies, as there are times when nothing is required, and then something comes up on short notice and you will be busy until the matter is settled.  Must be 19 years or older.  For more information, contact Debbie at nanaimorhc@elderdog.ca
