Canucks Autism Network is seeking a Program and Event Volunteer. A volunteer for this position would be playing various sports at a basic level with children and/or youth on the Autism Spectrum. Volunteers would work directly alongside a support worker and work 1:1 with a participant under the direction of staff. They would also be a role model and provide positive behaviour support, help set up and take down equipment before, during and after the program, and participate in community and family events within the community. Required skills are the ability to work as part of a team, the desire to engage with participants (children and youth), patience, the ability to teach participants basic sport skills. Occasional travel is required. A Criminal Record Check is required and is paid for by the agency.
