ACC oversees the ethical treatment of animals in teaching and research at VIU. The committee is looking for an external member to provide crucial community representation. Members are appointed to the committee for two-year terms. Typically, the committee meets 5-6 times a year, in person at VIU or electronically. Each meeting requires the review of documents related to Animal Use Protocols submitted by instructors or researchers.
ACC Members must have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection that can handle video conferencing. For other information, please review this document: https://ccac.ca/Documents/Assessment/Community_representatives_manual.pdf.
To apply, please send a short expression of interest that briefly describes your background and your motivation for serving on the VIU Animal Care committee via email: acc@viu.ca.
