Coffee and Chat is a welcoming social program for people living with early-stage dementia and/or their care partners. Volunteers for this role will assist with the setup and cleanup of refreshments and activities, provide gentle encouragement, help everyone feel include, and offer one-on-one support to participants who may need it. A patient, friendly volunteer is required who enjoys being with people. Experience with people living with dementia is an asset; some light lifting and standing may be required. This volunteer opportunity would be for August 7, 14 and 21; meeting in Parksville from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM and in Nanaimo from 1:30PM to 3:00PM.
