The Vancouver Island Exhibition requires Directors to make decisions on the day-to-day operations of the Association. Volunteers for these positions must be able to attend 2 Board meetings per month and weekly meetings in July and August prior to the start of the annual Fair, which is held each year on the lasts weekend of August. These volunteers must participate in the setup and takedown of the fair. A Director must accept the responsibilities of completing their assigned duties and will have the authority to exercise their control in their respective Director areas, which will be assigned after the Annual General Meeting.
Volunteers for these positions must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, have attention to detail, be organised, have the ability to work as an individual and as part of a team, have basic computer skills and have the strong personal skills needed to work with the general public.
